What is a fanlisting?
The concept of fanlistings was created to join together fans of certain subjects, as a way of creating tighter fandom communities.
TheFanlistings.org is the original (but not official) web directory for fanlistings, dedicated to uniting the fans.
About this fanlisting
I don't know about you, but I have always been fascinated by human/hawk relationships. I do not only know those from movies, but also from legends and fairytales - and, of course, they happen (or used to happen?) in real life as well. Now, this fanlisting, as you will have figured out, is dedicated to a friendship displayed in the 2004 film King Arthur (which admittedly isn't that fabulous) by Jerry Bruckheimer: between the scout Tristan and his hawk. Tristan isn't an overly social type, he shows open affection only to his beautiful bird. By the end of the film, he and his comrades have finally earned their freedom. But when they hear the invading Saxons' drums, the scout sets his hawk free (hence the title of this site). It flies back to the battlefield and he follows with his fellow knights, deciding on fighting rather returning home. Tristan gets killed. Before he dies, he looks to the sky and sees his hawk circling above him.
